Nashville PBS enriches Middle Tennessee by connecting our community to the wider world through the power of public media. Supported by local donors, our nonprofit offers diverse programming on streaming platforms like the free PBS app and PBS KIDS app, as well as over-the-air on four channels. Reaching nearly 2.4 million viewers, we provide free access to educational, news, environmental, and cultural content that reflects the diversity of our region. Through community events and hands-on learning experiences, we foster dialogue and prepare children for success, making a lasting impact on those we serve.

Becky Magura, President & CEO

Becky Magura was selected as president and CEO of Nashville Public Television (NPT) in July 2021 and assumed her duties in September 2021. Magura has more than 39 years of experience in production, educational outreach, and management in public media.

A native Tennesseean, Magura has extensive service on numerous regional and national boards. Magura has received numerous awards including a Nashville/Midsouth Regional Emmy, Tennessee Governor's Award for Excellence in Early Foundations, the Cumberland Business Journal's Ovation Award for Community Service, and was recently named as a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.

Committed to lifelong learning and the use of public media for K-12 education, Magura has successfully served as the liaison for the Tennessee PBS At Home Learning Collaborative in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education and all six Tennessee public television stations.

Magura was named a 2021 recipient of the C. Scott Elliott Development Professional of the Year Award by PBS. She recently completed the Public Media Diversity Leaders Initiative, a program of the Riley Institute at Furman University.

In 2025, America’s Public Television Stations (APTS) presented Magura with the inaugural Patrick Butler National Advocacy Award for her work raising the profile of the impact of local stations in communities large and small throughout the nation and in cultivating relationships and support for public broadcasting within the Tennessee congressional delegation and state legislature.
